One of the distinguishing features of the Russian fiction in the past decade is its dependence on the trends in the reader's environment. Postapocalypses wave of popularity and the vampire saga, the invasion of zombies and steampunk dictate what writers write, and what publishers print. What caused such a strict dependence in the genre, and what topics have the greatest demand among Russian-speaking fans of science fiction? Nikita Averin, writer and literary agent, will tell us about that.
We will also talk about the phenomenon of "multiple-authors projects" and its impact on the development of modern Russian science fiction and fantasy.
